Thanksgiving was fabulous -we made a lot of food and really enjoyed getting together. My 91 year old Grandma came and it was really nice to hang out with her. My dad found this really old cookbook the night before and she was showing me that it held the original recipe for these oatmeal rolls that my Dad's family makes and fight over. And by fight, I mean hide from each other. My Aunt Diana (who made the rolls!) asked for a few to take home with her and my Dad told her that they were all gone. No they weren't! He had pilfered a few and hid them in a cabinet! So, these rolls are pretty near and dear to our family and it was really cool to see the original recipe from my Great Great Aunt.
Thursday night, my mom and I decided to head to Jordan Creek Mall and see if it was packed and to just look around. I had wanted to stop into the LOFT (I had a $100 gift card burning a hole in my pocket!) and I was able to score a few cute tops for Christmas presents. Just as we were leaving, we saw a sign at US Cellular for free iPhone 5Cs, so my sisters have some sweet gifts coming their way (no worries, they already know since they had to pick out their colors). The mall wasn't crazy, thank the Lord, and it was really nice to spend some fun shopping time with my mom.
Friday was the Iowa vs. Nebraska game and it was Ah-Mazing. We won! I am a pretty big Iowa fan and a major trash talker, but I really didn't think that we would win this game. But, the Hawks proved me (and a lot of others) wrong and held the lead the entire time. The Huskers never stood a chance. Pretty excited to see what bowl we get sent to - hopefully the Outback bowl. Fight, Fight, Fight for Iowa!
Sorry for the lack of pictures, as usual, I forgot to take any. Womp, womp. Does anyone else stink at this? I only seem to have pictures of my dogs and food on my phone. Lame.
Hope you have a good week!
